Corby Southern Gateway Site Begins to Take Shape

With construction of the steel frames for the new retail units at Corby Southern Gateway beginning in September, the site is quickly starting to take shape. GSSllp are proud to be Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyors on this exciting project in East Northamptonshire.

The scheme forms part of the larger Corby Southern Gateway Development, with the masterplan consisting of a mixture of housing to the east and a petrol station, office, restaurant and hotel to the north.

The retail unit scheme is the final part of the larger development, providing 3 already agreed units for food in the form of a two storey, Drive-Thru McDonald’s restaurant, Costa restaurant and Domino’s Pizza restaurant along with another unit.

The development will provide a further range of services and amenities to the south of Corby, significantly enhancing the existing offer and benefiting the wider Corby area throughout the day. The scheme will also provide more local eating options during lunchtime for the commercial offices to the north of the site.

The main contactor, PGR Construction, recently began work on the cladding for the new retail units, which is now starting to give a much greater idea of what they will look like once complete. Groundworks for the new McDonald’s unit are also progressing well, ahead of the arrival of the new unit later this year.

Our in-house graphics department 3DLABS, have produced a visual showing what the completed McDonald’s Unit will look like once complete, which can be seen alongside some current progress photos from the site.
